Derek Nieman has been part of the south east convention scene for over ten years. An original member of the Carolina Garrison of the 501st Legion, it goes almost without saying that Derek is a huge Star Wars fan. Not limited to just being a one trick fan boy, Derek also has a huge interest in costuming in other genres, which inspired him to join the cast of the Carolina Renaissance Festival in 2003. Derek’s other interests include gaming, Game of Thrones, and Doctor Who.
