JT the Enginerd has a background in Engineering from Virginia Tech but jumped ship slightly in order to teach Engineering Design at the high school level.  She has been teaching two levels of engineering for the past six  years and is currently working on obtaining National Board Certification.  In addition to teaching, she advises a chapter of the Technology Student Association (a STEM and leadership based group) and has had officers at regional state, and national office as well as fulfills duties at levels within the organization.  She also serves as the TSA Representative on the Virginia Technology and Engineering Educators board.

Outside of work, JT is a pretty all purpose geek in to most realms of sci-fi and fantasy from Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, BSG and much much more. She also is a gamer, crafter, and general maker.
